  • On Monday evening the JV football team took on Rochester.  The game happened. Jeremiah Brown snagged down an awesome interception. Andrew Benning rushed for a touchdown and Benning threw a pass for a score to DeAnthony Brown. Even with those two touchdowns Jay Rolf was statistically the best quarterback on the field after his tremendous 1 for 1 passing performance. That was it, the game ended there, nothing else took place. But now for the moment you all have been waiting for...Matt Murphy stepped to midfield, the crowd silent, time frozen. The coin spun, sunlight glinting like destiny itself. A beam of light came through the clouds illuminating Matt standing there, brave and strong as ever. Seven tosses. Seven triumphs. When chaos reigns and the wind howls, one man flips a coin — and the universe listens to one person, Matt Murphy. Matt Murphy doesn’t guess. He decides fate. At this point, statisticians have quit. Physicists are in shambles. Probability has left the chat. Matt Murphy doesn’t play the odds — he is the odds. Without Matt, we are all left with nothing. The team now sits at 5-2 ont he season, but Matt remains a perfect 7 for 7.
