We have a new perfect attendance challenge! If you have perfect attendance from Monday October 20th, the first day of second quarter, to the Friday before Thanksgiving, all students with perfect attendance will be put into a drawing to win a Lunch with Leardi! The group will walk over to Magic Kitchen for lunch free for you! Show up each of the 24 days to be in the drawing!

The boys and girls cross country teams competed at the IHSA regional meet in Taylorville on Saturday. The girls ran their best race of the season to snag the final qualifying spot to sectionals. The girls were led by Sophia Llosa with a personal best effort. Personal best times were also turned in by Anamarie Kren, Melody Guardia, Nora Andring and Zoe Wall! The boys team had a great day as well easily advancing on to the sectional meet. DJ Peeler turned in a huge personal best performance to lead this Senators with a 6th place finish. Alexander Ratz joined him in the top 10 placing 10th overall with a personal best effort. Both the boys and girls teams will compete at the sectional meet on Saturday in Mattoon.
The girls swimming and diving team finished third in the central state 8 conference meet! The relay team of Natasha O’Brien, Chloe Scheffler, Abby Myers and Lila Martin finished 3rd in the 400 free relay and had a season best to win the conference title in the 200 freestyle relay! The relay team of Lilly Allen, Mallory Leming, Abby Beeman and Josie Ehmen finished 5th in the medley relay and 6th in the 200 free relay. Lu Derman, Kate Eichinger, Ella Peach and Pauline O’Connell finished 5th in the 400 free relay. Chloe Scheffler won an individual conference title with a first place finish in the 100 backstroke and finished 2nd in the 200 freestyle. Abby Myers finished 3rd in the 50 freestyle and 2nd in the 100 freestyle. Lila Martin finished 6th in the 200 IM and 5th in the 500 freestyle. Lilly Allen finished 5th in the 100 butterfly. Natasha O’Brien finished 5th in the 100 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. Mallory Leming finished 6th in the 100 breaststroke. The team scored the more points in the conference meet than they have in over five years! Lila Martin, Abby Myers, Natasha O’Brien and Chloe Scheffler earned all conference honors. The team will compete in the sectional meet in two weeks.
We look forward to seeing our students and staff at our home football games! We look forward to seeing our students and staff at our home football games! But, we want to remind you of the code of conduct. The Code of Conduct and the guidelines of the student
handbook apply to all students while on District 186 property, adjacent property or engaged in
school-sponsored activities. Any misconduct before, during or after the game will be handled by
the administration at the student’s school and will result in consequences.
Please note that students who are suspended and/or expelled are not permitted to attend
school events, including games. If a suspended or expelled student purchases a ticket and is
admitted by mistake, they will be required to leave, and no refunds will be issued.
All spectators are expected to remain seated during games. Anyone found standing or roaming
for an extended period of time will be asked to sit in the stands, failure to comply will result in
being removed from the stadium.
Also failing to abide by the football stadium expectations may result in you being escorted from
the stadium. If you are escorted from the stadium you will not be allowed to return to future
games.
No unaccompanied minors will be allowed entry into games. All K-8th grade students should be
with an adult who is responsible for their actions and monitors their movement during the
games. They should be sitting watching the games and limit walking around unless using the
restroom or visiting the concession stand. Students can not attend without an adult - they will
not be allowed entry.
Football games will conclude around 9:15 p.m., announcements will be made for students to
call for their ride at the start of 4th quarter at every game. Please make sure your ride, if
needed, is at the stadium to pick you up at that time.
We want to cheer on our teams, have great District 186 spirit and have a good time. Thank you
for assisting the Administration and the Springfield Police Department in this manner.
