  • Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays the  Peace Room is  open and available to students for support in the Guidance Office-8:30-9am and 11:30-2pm. 

  • After School Tutoring is offered Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  in Room 214

  • Please know that on Friday, October 31st, SHS has a regular day of teaching and learning. We do not allow costumes, face paint, or any props during the school day.

  • We have a new perfect attendance challenge! If you have perfect attendance from Monday October 20th, the first day of second quarter, to the Friday before Thanksgiving, all students with perfect attendance will be put into a drawing to win a Lunch with Leardi!  The group will walk over to Magic Kitchen for lunch free for you! Show up each of the 24 days to be in the drawing! 

  • We have started AP exam sign-ups.  There are two steps to sign up for the AP Exams.  First, students need to join each AP course on myap.collegeboard.org and register for the exam.  Second, students will need to sign-up/pay in Guidance. 

The due date to order an exam is Friday, November 7th.  After this date, there will be a $40 late sign-up fee.  Exams will begin in May of 2026.

Each exam is $99. Cash or check will be accepted in Guidance.  Checks can be made out to Springfield High School.  There is a reduced price of $20.00 per test for eligible students.  Questions? Ask your AP teacher or email Mrs. Lauer (NPLauer@sps186.org).

  • LLCC is hosting a FAFSA Night for any senior in District #186. Seniors and their families are invited to join us at Lanphier High School on Today, October 30th from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. 

  • SKY Club will begin Wednesday 11/5 after school until 3pm. We will meet every other Wednesday moving forward. At SKY Club, you will learn and practice techniques like breathing exercises and mindfulness to reduce stress and improve well-being. If you are interested, please join us in the Peace Room 11/5 after school.

  • The Interact Club’s Coat Drive will end this Friday.

  • Guten Tag from the German Club! The next meeting will be held on Today, October 30 in Frau Huffman’s room, room 250. Join us as we explore the latest German trend, there’ll be yummy treats and a good German movie. Swing by the German room or see Annah Sharp if you have any questions.

  • Anyone interested in being in the spring musical please come to the student/parent meeting on Thursday, November 6th at 6:00 pm in the Cafeteria. You will have a chance to meet the staff. Musical synopsis and character descriptions will be available as well as song and reading cuts for auditions. There will be time for Q & A.

  • Hey SHS students! The Chess club will be meeting after school from 3:17 to 4:15 in Mr. Hull’s Room (Room 116) this Friday! Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level! There will be a tournament this Friday, and we hope to see you there!

  • Please help support United Way by buying key chains on your lunch period  Thursday October 30th and Friday October 31 by the Commons. Reduced Price $5 each for foam sports key chains and $3 each regular key chains.

Bring a dollar next week to buy popcorn during 4th Period.

  • Attention all students interested in trying out for Boys basketball this season!

    There will be a Pre-Tryout Meeting on Wednesday, October 29th, from 2:30–3:30 PM in the Commons.

During the meeting, we will:

  • Complete Athletic Permit Cards

  • Review grades and physicals

  • Share important tryout information and expectations

Make sure to attend if you plan to try out for the team!

  • Any boy not currently in a fall sport that is interested in joining the boys swimming and diving team - there will be a short meeting on Wednesday, November 5th after school in Mrs Myers room (WW4). 

  • We look forward to seeing our students and staff at our home football games! We look forward to seeing our students and staff at our home football games! But, we want to remind you of the code of conduct. The Code of Conduct and the guidelines of the student

handbook apply to all students while on District 186 property, adjacent property or engaged in

school-sponsored activities. Any misconduct before, during or after the game will be handled by

the administration at the student’s school and will result in consequences.

Please note that students who are suspended and/or expelled are not permitted to attend

school events, including games. If a suspended or expelled student purchases a ticket and is

admitted by mistake, they will be required to leave, and no refunds will be issued.

All spectators are expected to remain seated during games. Anyone found standing or roaming

for an extended period of time will be asked to sit in the stands, failure to comply will result in

being removed from the stadium.

Also failing to abide by the football stadium expectations may result in you being escorted from

the stadium. If you are escorted from the stadium you will not be allowed to return to future

games.

No unaccompanied minors will be allowed entry into games. All K-8th grade students should be

with an adult who is responsible for their actions and monitors their movement during the

games. They should be sitting watching the games and limit walking around unless using the

restroom or visiting the concession stand. Students can not attend without an adult - they will

not be allowed entry.

Football games will conclude around 9:15 p.m., announcements will be made for students to

call for their ride at the start of 4th quarter at every game. Please make sure your ride, if

needed, is at the stadium to pick you up at that time.

We want to cheer on our teams, have great District 186 spirit and have a good time. Thank you

for assisting the Administration and the Springfield Police Department in this manner.
